Mission Statement:
Binky Patrol is an all volunteer, national, non-profit organization making and distributing homemade blankets to children born HIV+, drug-addicted, infected with AIDS or other chronic & terminal illnesses, those who are abused, in foster care or experiencing trauma of any kind. Our recipients range in ages from 0-18. Binky Patrol was founded in 1996 by Susan Finch of Beaverton, Oregon and now has chapters in all 50-states, having given out well over 100,000 blankets.
The Fresno/Central Valley Chapter of the Binky Patrol was formed in December 2007, and gave our first blankets out in January 2008.
Our first recipients...
Foster babies, Joseph and Alissa, were the first recipients to receive a binky from the Fresno chapter of Binky Patrol.
We've donated over 3500 blankets to children in need since 2008. Because of the Disney's Give-a-Day, Get-a-Day volunteer opportunity, we were able to help over 1500 people go to Disneyland and in turn, they donated over 2500 blankets to us to give to the children in our own community.
